James Bond - film shooting on the glacier in Sölden

007 was a guest in Sölden

The year started extremely action-packed in the World Cup town Sölden: scenes for the new Bond film “Spectre” were filmed here as well as in Obertilliach in the Gail Valley in January and February 2015.  The film crew transformed the glacier skiing area into a trailer park in no time at all – an unusual spectacle!

Daniel Craig and the 500-person crew of the new James Bond film, which shall start in American cinemas in the autumn, spent a few weeks on the glacier in Sölden in order to film exciting and breath-taking scenes for the new film.

The mission of the Bond makers was to top “Skyfall” – the breath-taking scenery of the Ötztal glacier was perfect for them! It was even “the first time on a mountain” for some of the cast.

Exploding cars, burnt-out helicopters, spectacular gondola cable car trips, car races in the snow and thrilling fight scenes against the backdrop of the Ötztal Alps await cinema audiences starting in the autumn of 2015.

Star-studded cast

In addition to Craig as well-liked 007, Hollywood celebrities such as Christoph Waltz and Léa Seydoux as well as Monica Bellucci are also featured stars in “Spectre”.

In the shooting breaks, the arriving film crew ate at the Rettenbach Glacier Restaurant among other locations.
